#25 - Ken'ichi Matsuyama Tutorial.
Going from:

Translatable! Very simple, too!

Begin with base:

Duplicate your base and set it to SCREEN 100%, or whatever depending on your base. You want it pretty bright though:

Create a new layer filled with #7c7ea6 and set the layer to OVERLAY 100%:

Create a new layer filled with #54bcc8 and set the layer to COLOR BURN 100%:

Create a new layer filled with #0c0f1b and set the layer to EXCLUSION 100%:

Duplicate your base, drag it to the top, and set the layer to SOFTLIGHT 100%:

Go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>COLOR BALANCE, enter in:
MIDTONES: -29, 6, 17
SHADOWS: -8, -13, 13

Go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>HUE/SATURATION, enter in:
Master Saturation: 21

And it's done!

Questions, comments, results... yeah. Seriously, nobody shows results anymore! Anyways, yes another one of my trademark blue tutorials (I'm really just in love with blue colorings). (And yet again, feel free to friend me if you like my tuts)

here's what I got, I had to duplicate the screen layer and lower the opacity a bit though because my picture wasn't very light to begin with. not as blue as yours but *shrugs* still love this tutorial!

hmm hopefully i did this right, ive never posted pictures in comments before!

Very nice icon! I like the coloring even though it's not that blue (and I'm a blue addict). It doesn't look washed-out or anything, which can happen sometimes with dark pictures. Thanks for showing me your result!
Amandainuyuukichan on September 11th, 2007 05:03 am (UTC)
thanks! i love blue in my icons too haha
just_discoverjust_discover on September 11th, 2007 03:48 pm (UTC)
It came out a bit too blue on their faces so i changed some opacitys, but this is what i came up with :

Awesome tut! Thankies! :) x
Kelseyhelloimkelsey on September 12th, 2007 01:48 am (UTC)
It is kind of blue, huh... well sometimes you can even add an extra base screen and softlight layer... or just lower the opacities more, lol. It's a nice icon though! I like the cropping!
deedzaq: Mulder and Scullydeedzaq on September 11th, 2007 04:14 pm (UTC)
Here's what I got. The green contrasted the blue...
